Storytelling

Storytelling is one of the three pillars of the Lean Story Design mindset. It is described in the orange book of the LSD series. An introduction on this page.

Theory and methods

  • Practice storytelling
  • Storytelling with your team
  • Heroic stories
  • Design a story or personal legend
  • Create persona
  • Developing a vision with storytelling  (workshop)

Did you know……
storytelling is as old as the road to Rome… uh, Athens. Aristotle, 3.5 century BC, writes his ‘Poetics’. He comes up with a whole series of storytelling figures of speech, such as Mimesis (performance), Catharsis (purification), Mythos (plot), Dianoia (theme) and Opsis (spectacle). Less thought out but just as influential is another well-known form of storytelling: the fairytale. And the nice thing: all the colorful figures in the fairytale are actually aspects of your person. The knight, the princess, the frog and the witch: you have them all in you. Oh yes, and let’s not forget: the narrator. There is a storyteller in each of us.
