Teams are a combination of individuals. Sometimes those people have unexpected (and unknown) qualities. Or is there an event from the past that has an impact on the now. Everyone has a story, a personal legend. What made him or her what he / she is now?
With the simple method Appreciatives Interviews (AI) we focus on an (unseen) strength that the team member has shown in the past. And it becomes clear what the (then) team played in the success.
- Make pairs.
- Tell each other a story about a time when you worked with others on a challenge and you are proud of your role and what you have achieved. What is the story and what made the success possible?
- Then tell each other’s story in plenary . So Jan tells Anna’s story and Anna that of Jan’s
- The main character may of course supplement and correct
