A Chindōgu is a completely pointless invention. It is the invention of Kenji Kawakami, a Japanese inventor and writer. Kawakami takes meaninglessness very seriously and so has created Chindōgu’s Ten Commandments. Without these rules, making a meaningless invention would become very… meaningless in his eyes.
It is quite easy to make a Chindōgu. All you need is your imagination. In a workshop form it is nice to have pens, scissors, glue and especially many old magazines ready. Or, even better, organize it with the thrift store.
Get the inventors to present their idea over-the-top . Add a price – of course also a Chindōgu – and use (for example) the Applaudometer app to measure which invention is most meaningless.
Pointless, right?
