Innovation models with use of design thinking

There are various models for the design thinking process. You may have heard of the ‘Double Diamond model’ or the 1-10-100 method. The key question is of course: ‘which model suits us best?’

In the  green LSD section on design thinking  we have devoted a chapter to the design thinking process and the various innovation models. You will also find our own LSD innovation model. Just read chapter 17.

An innovation method to which we do not pay attention in the book, but which is certainly interesting for innovators, is the FORTH method by Gijs van Wulven (VOORT in Dutch).

FORTH is an acronym for:

  • Full steam ahead
  • Observe & learn
  • Raise ideas
  • Test ideas
  • Homecoming

As you can see, it is a real design thinking process. Gijs van Wulven is therefore a renowned international speaker and design thinker.
