Self-management

In essence, self-management is a way of structuring and managing an organization without the old familiar hierarchy. But how does this work and especially: what are the pitfalls?

In the case of self-management, it is the people ‘on the shop floor’ who make the move. They work in small teams responsible for their own area and make all associated decisions.

BECOMING SELF-MANAGING
Are you considering converting your organization into a network organization of self-managing teams? Then read the inspiring stories of the organizations that preceded you. At the bottom of this page a list of books where these stories have been collected.

Becoming self-managing is a journey, a quest. There is no model, no blueprint. You have to (read: may!) Find your own way. Self-management is primarily an experimental process. Giving space and building trust in small steps. Many coats fit until one fits.

The LSD mindset is a powerful foundation for the transition to self-management. Give yourself and your people an LSD workshop and get to know the mindset that makes self-management possible. This is also possible with large organizations, but we will solve the practical issues. And we tailor the form and content to your specific case and challenges.

Interested? We would like to meet you free of charge.

READ
If you want to know more about self-management, read the work of Frederic Laloux , the  Corporate Rebels  and  Aaron Dignan in addition to the third (blue) part of the LSD triptych  . In these books you will find the inspiring stories of Semco, Morning Star, Handelsbanken, Buurtzorg, Incentro, Finext, Patagonia and Haier.
